Safaplace is proud to announce an exclusive event with two inspiring campaigners, Esther Ghey and Adele Zeynep Walton, taking place on November 14th at 4pm at Stoke Newington School.

Both Esther and Adele share Safaplace’s core ambition to advance the positive mental health and well being of young people.They will be discussing one of the most pressing issues facing the next generation: the profound impact of social media and mobile phone use on young mental health. Suggested donation of £5 but free admittance to under 25s and concessions.

Esther is a campaigner for online safety and the founder of The Brianna Ghey Legacy Project. She has taken her campaign to the House of Commons and is a prominent voice in the movements to ban phones in schools and implement social media age limits. She is also an ambassador for the Mindfulness in Schools Project. Esther was named The Independent’s Most Influential Woman of 2024 and was listed among GQ’s Heroes of 2024. She is the author of Under a Pink Sky.

Adele is an award-winning British-Turkish journalist reporting on the human impacts of digital technology, social media and AI and the bestselling author of Logging Off: The Human Cost of Our Digital World. Logging Off was selected for the Waterstones Non-Fiction Book of the Month in June 2026. She has recently moved to Stoke Newington. Having channelled a personal loss into campaigning for a safe digital future, Adele is an online safety campaigner with Families and Survivors to Prevent Online Suicide Harm and Bereaved Families for Online Safety. She regularly works with parliamentarians and policy-makers, bereaved families and parents to campaign for tech accountability and suicide prevention. Known for her bold interventions, such as protesting outside Meta HQ and confronting a tech billionaire at Davos, Adele is a frontline activist at the defining issue of our times.
